Kettering Health MyChart: Login & Patient Portal Guide

Kettering Health MyChart is Kettering Health’s Epic-powered patient portal for appointments, test results, care-team messages, prescription refills, bills, records, proxy access and selected virtual-care tools.

Kettering has several portal rules that are easy to miss: MyChart access is currently blocked outside the United States, two-factor authentication is required on new devices, activation codes expire after 60 days, and patients age 14 can create their own account.

MyChart support 937-384-4893
Activation code 60 days
New-device trust 30 days

Verify Required code on a new device
Manage care Visits, refills, results and messages
Family Proxy rules change at ages 14 and 18
Records Portal copy or formal ROI request
Billing Guest Pay, plans and estimates

Quick answer: the official Kettering Health MyChart portal is mychart.ketteringhealth.org. Kettering Health currently lists MyChart Patient Support at 937-384-4893. New users can sign up online, existing users can recover forgotten login information from the official portal, and bills can be paid without logging in through Kettering Health Guest Pay.

Privacy first: MyChart-Health.org is an independent information website. It is not Kettering Health, Epic or the Kettering Health MyChart portal. Do not enter your password, activation code, six-character verification code, date of birth, Social Security information, insurance details, medical-record information or payment information on this page.

Use the Correct Kettering Health MyChart Route

Login, new-account signup, password recovery and bill payment are separate tasks. Starting with the correct official screen avoids unnecessary identity checks and duplicate accounts.

Signup and Activation: What Kettering Actually Requires

Kettering Health supports enrollment at a clinic, activation codes from visit paperwork or billing, activation links by text/email and online self-signup.

Use your own patient information

Kettering’s current signup form is for the patient requesting access to their own protected health information. It asks for information such as name, address, date of birth, legal sex, phone and email.

Do not use self-signup to create a family member’s account

The official signup page explicitly says requests for another adult or minor family member are not handled through this method. Use proxy access instead.

Use an activation code before 60 days pass

Kettering says an activation code expires after 60 days and is no longer valid after its first successful use.

If the code expired, use Sign Up Now

You can request another code from the clinic or use the official self-signup process. Do not keep entering an expired code.

If an account already exists, recover it

Kettering’s signup page tells existing users who forgot their username/password to use account recovery or call 937-384-4893 rather than create another account.

Age requirement for self-signup: Kettering’s current registration form asks the applicant to affirm that they are the patient and are at least 18 years old. Pediatric MyChart access follows different rules, explained in the proxy section below.

Two-Factor Authentication Is Now Required on New Devices

Kettering Health now requires two-factor authentication for MyChart. Its current instructions say the new-device requirement began March 9, 2025.

Kettering Health MyChart two-factor login details
Step / issue Kettering-specific detail What to do
Verification code A six-character code is sent by email or text. Enter it after your username and password.
SMS sender 74239 is the phone number/sender of the text—not your verification code. Look inside the message for the separate six-character code.
Email sender Kettering tells patients to allow email from MyChartMessage@ketteringhealth.org. Check spam/junk and other email accounts connected to your record.
Trusted device The “Trust this device” option remembers the device for 30 days. Use it only on a private device you control.
Waiting for code Kettering tells users to keep the MyChart page/app open. Open email in another browser tab or switch apps without closing MyChart.
Wrong email/phone The portal cannot fix outdated contact details during the code screen. Contact your provider or a Kettering facility to update the chart.

Important: Kettering MyChart Is Blocked Outside the United States

Kettering Health’s current MyChart FAQ states that its MyChart is unavailable outside the United States. Kettering describes this as a security measure related to increasing cyberattack reports.

If your username and password work normally at home but the portal will not open while you are traveling internationally, the problem may be the geographic access restriction—not a bad password. Avoid repeatedly resetting a working account before considering this rule.

If you need records while outside the United States, contact Kettering Health’s Release of Information team or your provider rather than trying to bypass the portal restriction.

Test Results: Immediate Release, Missing Results and Hospital Results

Kettering’s result-release policy is more specific than “results show in a few days.”

Most finalized results release immediately

Kettering says inpatient and outpatient test results are generally released to MyChart after they are finalized. You may see a result before your clinician has reviewed it.

Some sensitive results may be withheld

Kettering says certain sensitive results may not be released electronically through MyChart. Ask the ordering office if a specific result is unavailable.

Wait up to seven days before escalating a missing result

If an expected result is still absent after seven days, Kettering directs patients to the provider. Technical Support cannot release a clinical result.

Received a “new result” email but cannot see it? Open Test Results and make sure Show Hospital Results is selected. Kettering specifically identifies this as a reason a result can appear missing.

Only tests performed within a Kettering Health office or facility appear as Kettering results. Outside-provider results may appear only through linked-record functionality when supported.

Messages, eVisits and Prescription Requests

Kettering Health digital care options
Option How it works Timing / limitation
MyChart message Send a non-urgent question to the provider/care team. Kettering asks patients to allow about 2 business days. Messages are not continuously monitored, including nights, weekends and holidays.
eVisit Complete a MyChart questionnaire for selected problems such as cough or UTI when offered. Kettering says providers generally respond within 24 hours. eVisits are treated as visits and may involve a copay.
Prescription refill Request a refill for a refillable medication through MyChart. Refill requests may not be monitored nights/weekends. A new prescription may require an office visit, telehealth visit or eVisit.
Virtual check-in Brief telephone interaction with the provider when that care option is appropriate. Kettering describes these as roughly 5-10 minute calls.

Do not use MyChart messaging for emergencies. Kettering says MyChart is not constantly monitored. Contact the medical center/provider for immediate needs and call 911 for an emergency.

Appointments, Telehealth and On-Demand Care

MyChart appointments

Schedule participating appointments, review past/upcoming visits and manage available visit options. Kettering’s central scheduling number is 937-384-4510.

Telehealth video visit

Kettering offers real-time video and audio visits for conditions that do not require a hands-on exam. Contact the provider office or use available online scheduling.

On-Demand virtual sick visit

Current Kettering On-Demand telehealth is intended for eligible minor illnesses. Kettering currently requires the patient to be physically in Ohio and at least 18 for this specific service.

Care type matters: rash, cough, allergies and some GI problems can fit a virtual visit, while symptoms needing physical examination, imaging or lab testing may require in-person care.

Medical Records: MyChart Copy vs Formal Release

Kettering Health states that MyChart provides most—but not all—of the complete medical record. If you need information that is not visible, a formal request is the better route.

Request records inside MyChart

When logged in, Kettering directs patients to the Request for Health Record form for records that are not already visible.

  • The request goes to Release of Information.
  • Kettering says portal-requested records can take up to 3 business days.
  • You receive a notification when the records are available.
  • Downloaded records remain available in Document Center for one year from the date sent.

Formal Release of Information

Kettering’s central Release of Information Department currently lists:

Kettering Health
Release of Information Department
1 Prestige Place, Suite 540
Miamisburg, OH 45342

Office: 937-762-1200
Fax: 937-522-8444
Email: releaseofinformation@ketteringhealth.org

Kettering asks patients to allow about 10 business days for formal medical-record requests. Off-site information or incomplete authorization forms can take longer. If a fee applies, Kettering says you will be notified before the record is sent.

Need machine-readable EHI rather than a PDF? Kettering’s MyChart FAQ offers a separate Electronic Health Information export. It is designed for machine processing rather than human reading and may take up to 5 business days. Use the normal Health Record request when you want a readable PDF.

Wrong Address, Medication, Legal Name or Preventive-Care Reminder?

Contact details

Use Personal Information in MyChart to update address, phone number, email address, preferred name and other supported personal details.

Legal name

Kettering says a legal name cannot simply be edited in MyChart. Use Request for Amendment and submit identification, or request the update at a physician practice/registration department with ID.

Medication/allergy changes

Updates can be requested from the Medications and Allergies pages, but Kettering says a qualified provider must review them before they become part of the record.

If MyChart says a preventive-care service is overdue even though you completed it elsewhere, Kettering may simply not have that outside visit in its electronic record. A Kettering primary-care provider can review and update the preventive-care information.

Link Records From Another Health System

Kettering supports Epic’s linked-account functionality, often called Happy Together. In MyChart, choose Link My Accounts, search by organization name, city or state and complete the other organization’s verification.

Information that can appear from a linked organization

  • Allergies and health issues
  • Medications and implants
  • Care team information
  • Test results and visits when allowed
  • Messages and appointments when supported by the linked account

If linked data looks incomplete

The outside organization controls which information it releases. Kettering’s linked-record help also notes that some cross-organization messaging works only from a web browser rather than the MyChart mobile app.

You can unlink an organization from Link My Accounts. Kettering says this removes that organization’s data from the view in your Kettering MyChart, although care teams may still have access to legitimately exchanged clinical information.

Child, Teen and Adult Proxy Access

Kettering’s pediatric rules change at age 14 and again at age 18. This is one of the most important Kettering-specific details for parents.

Kettering Health MyChart family-access rules
Patient How access works Important rule
Child under 14 Parent/guardian uses proxy access and can request access from their own MyChart. Children under 14 cannot create their own Kettering MyChart account.
Age 14-17 The patient may create their own MyChart account and can invite a parent/guardian. Existing parent proxy does not automatically end at 14 under Kettering’s terms, but patients age 14+ can revoke parent/caregiver access.
Turns 18 Adult permissions apply. Kettering’s proxy page says parent MyChart access is automatically removed when the pediatric patient turns 18.
Adult patient Adult can invite a family member/caregiver from the Sharing Hub or use a proxy form. A proxy must be at least 18 years old.

A person does not have to be a Kettering Health patient to receive authorized proxy access to a loved one’s Kettering record.

Do not share one username and password between spouses or family members. Kettering requires separate accounts because of the sensitive medical information involved.

Kettering Health MyChart Mobile App and Notifications

Kettering uses Epic’s standard MyChart mobile application. After installation, select Kettering Health from the available healthcare organizations and sign in with your established account.

Apple

Use the MyChart app published by Epic Systems Corporation.

Android

Use the official MyChart application on Google Play.

Biometric access

Kettering says MyChart mobile can support Face ID or fingerprint login on compatible devices.

MyChart notification preferences can be adjusted under Account Settings → Communication Preferences. Kettering says patients can choose among supported email, text, phone or mail notifications and update contact information there.

Assigned Physical-Therapy Exercises: MedBridge Inside MyChart

Kettering Health includes a useful feature that many generic MyChart guides miss. If your provider assigns a MedBridge Home Exercise Program, sign in and select MedBridge Home Exercise Program from the MyChart menu. Assigned exercises and educational materials appear there.

If you do not see MedBridge, that does not necessarily indicate a portal problem. The section is useful when a Kettering provider has actually assigned a MedBridge program to your record.

Billing: Guest Pay, MyChart Payments and Payment Plans

Guest Pay

Kettering’s current bill-pay page says Guest Pay requires only the guarantor account number and last name.

Pay after signing in

MyChart lets eligible users use saved card/bank information, review payment history and see payment-plan options associated with the account.

Billing Customer Service

866-319-2981

Use for questions about bills, financial responsibility, insurance and payment concerns.

Guarantor means the person responsible for the bill. Kettering says the guarantor name and account number are printed on the statement.

Estimate a Bill, Check Insurance and Get Financial Help

Patient estimates

Kettering provides a guest estimate tool and an option to sign into MyChart so insurance information already on file can be used where available.

Pricing/estimate help: 937-762-1500

2026 pricing files

Kettering’s current price-transparency page says its listed hospital standard charges are updated as of April 1, 2026.

Kettering also states that its billing policy does not charge interest on unpaid balances.

Current 2026 insurance alert: Kettering Health’s billing site states that, effective January 1, 2026, it is no longer in-network with Humana and Devoted Medicare Advantage plans. Insurance contracts can change, so verify your specific plan with the insurer before scheduled care.

Financial assistance

Kettering Health bases assistance on household income and responsibility for eligible charges. Its current policy page states:

At or below 250% of Federal Poverty Guidelines

Kettering says eligible patients have no financial responsibility for qualifying care covered by its financial-assistance policy.

251%-400% of Federal Poverty Guidelines

Patients may qualify for discounted rates, subject to the policy and application review.

Financial counselor: 937-914-7680
Email: financialcounselors@ketteringhealth.org

Uninsured or not using insurance? Kettering’s Good Faith Estimate page says you have the right to an expected-cost estimate for scheduled non-emergency care. If the final bill is at least $400 above the Good Faith Estimate, a federal dispute process may be available.

Current Kettering Warning: Fake “MyChart Medicare Kit” Emails

Kettering Health currently warns patients about fraudulent emails using subjects such as “Your MyChart Medicare Kit Awaits!”. Kettering says these messages are not official MyChart communications.

If you receive one

  • Do not click links—including unsubscribe links.
  • Do not open attachments.
  • Do not reply.
  • Do not provide Medicare, financial, login or personal information.
  • Delete the email.

If you already clicked

  • Change your MyChart password immediately.
  • Change passwords on other accounts if you reused the same password.
  • Review relevant accounts for unauthorized activity.
  • Contact Kettering MyChart Support if you are concerned about portal access.

Kettering Health MyChart Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the official Kettering Health MyChart login website?

The official portal is mychart.ketteringhealth.org. Use Kettering Health’s own MyChart page for usernames, passwords, activation codes, verification codes, medical information and payments.

2. Can I log in to Kettering Health MyChart while outside the United States?

Kettering Health’s current MyChart FAQ says MyChart is unavailable outside the United States as a security measure. International access failure can therefore occur even when your login credentials are correct.

3. How long does a Kettering MyChart activation code last?

Kettering says activation codes expire after 60 days and are no longer valid after the first successful use. If yours expired, request a new code or use Sign Up Now.

4. Why is Kettering MyChart asking for a two-factor authentication code?

Kettering now requires two-factor authentication when you first sign in on a device. A six-character code is sent by email or text. A trusted private device can be remembered for 30 days.

5. Why can I not see a Kettering Health test result?

Most finalized inpatient and outpatient results are released quickly, but sensitive results may be withheld. Check that Show Hospital Results is enabled. If an expected result is still missing after seven days, contact the provider; technical support cannot release clinical results.

6. How long should I wait for a reply to a Kettering MyChart message or eVisit?

Kettering asks patients to allow about two business days for normal MyChart messages. For supported eVisits, Kettering says providers generally respond within 24 hours. Neither route should be used for emergencies.

7. How does Kettering MyChart access work for children and teenagers?

Children under 14 cannot create their own account, so a parent/guardian uses proxy access. At 14, a patient may create their own account and can revoke parent proxy access. Kettering says parent access is automatically removed when the child turns 18.

8. How long does it take to receive medical records requested through Kettering MyChart?

Kettering says a MyChart Request for Health Record can take up to three business days. Once delivered, the documents are available in Document Center for one year. Formal Release of Information requests may take about 10 business days.

9. Can I pay a Kettering Health bill without signing in?

Yes. Kettering Health Guest Pay requires the guarantor account number and last name from the statement. Signing in to MyChart can also provide payment history, saved payment methods and available payment-plan options.

10. Is the “MyChart Medicare Kit” email from Kettering Health real?

No. Kettering Health currently warns that emails such as “Your MyChart Medicare Kit Awaits!” are fraudulent. Do not click links, open attachments, reply or provide Medicare, financial, personal or login information.
