LMC MyChart: Login & Patient Portal Guide

LMC MyChart is the patient portal used by Lexington Health patients in South Carolina. Long-time patients may still recognize the Lexington Medical Center or “LMC” name, while current bills, websites and MyChart screens increasingly use Lexington Health.

This page is built around real tasks: get into the correct account, recover access, understand verification codes, request records, manage family access, pay a bill, find financial help and reach the right local department without exposing private patient information on a third-party website.

Current portal mychart.lexhealth.com

Old bookmark? Older lexmed.com MyChart links may still resolve to the Lexington portal.
Can’t log in? Recover the account instead of repeatedly guessing.
Code missing? Check the official sender and short code before requesting another.
Need a record? Digital formal copies through MyChart are free.
Helping family? Use Lexington’s proxy rules, not shared passwords.
Bill problem? QuickPay, payment plans and financial assistance use different routes.
Need medical care? A portal problem and a medical problem are not the same thing.

Quick answer: use mychart.lexhealth.com for the current Lexington Health MyChart portal. The login page currently offers standard username/password access, account recovery, passkey login for configured users, signup, QuickPay and proxy shortcuts. Lexington Health lists (803) 791-2300 as its MyChart Patient Support Line; the login screen also displays (877) 835-0975 as MyChart Help.

Keep private information on the official portal. MyChart-Health.org is an independent information website. It is not Lexington Health, Lexington Medical Center or Epic. Do not enter a password, activation code, one-time code, date of birth, Social Security information, medical-record number, insurance information or payment details on this website.

Why LMC MyChart Now Says Lexington Health

On August 8, 2025, the Lexington Medical Center network announced that the broader system would use the name Lexington Health. The hospital itself kept the name Lexington Medical Center. The organization also said the new name would gradually appear on signs, bills, digital materials and MyChart.

If your old bookmark says lexmed.com

Older MyChart links using the mychart.lexmed.com domain may still open the Lexington Health portal. That does not automatically mean you reached the wrong system. For a fresh bookmark, use the current mychart.lexhealth.com address.

What “local” means here

Lexington Health is a South Carolina Midlands network built around Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia and a large network of community facilities and physician practices. Your MyChart appointment may therefore be at a Lexington Health office away from the main hospital.

A surprisingly useful clue: although the organization now uses Lexington Health branding, its official MyChart FAQ currently says verification-code emails may arrive from mychart@lexmed.com. Do not reject a legitimate code solely because the older “lexmed” name appears in the sender address; still verify that you initiated the login request.

Which LMC MyChart Page Should You Use?

The portal has different routes for account setup, recovery, guest payment and family access. Starting from the task-specific page saves time and reduces the chance of entering sensitive details into the wrong form.

Official Lexington Health MyChart task routes
Task Official route Have ready What happens next
Sign in MyChart login Existing username/password or a configured passkey. Complete verification if your account requests it.
New account MyChart signup Patient identity and contact information that matches Lexington Health’s record. Lexington says online requests can require processing and verification before an activation email is sent.
Have activation code Activation route Your valid activation code and the information requested by MyChart. Create account credentials and finish the security setup.
Forgot login Account recovery Access to the email/mobile information associated with the account. Verify identity and recover the username or password.
Pay without login QuickPay Guarantor name and guarantor account number from the bill. Complete payment on the official payment screen.
Family / caregiver access Proxy forms and record access The correct minor, adult or legal-representative information. Access is added to the proxy’s own MyChart account when approved.

How to Log In Without Turning a Small Problem Into an Account Lockout

Open the Lexington Health login page directly

Confirm the domain is mychart.lexhealth.com before entering credentials. The official page requires JavaScript and cookies for normal portal operation.

Use the sign-in method already attached to your account

The current portal shows standard username/password login and can also show Log in with passkey for users who previously configured one. It also references an Epic ID/MyChart Central account for users who already created that setup.

Complete two-step verification if your account has it enabled

Lexington Health can send the code by email or SMS. Do not request repeated codes too quickly; a newer code makes an older one unusable.

Stop guessing if the password fails

Use the official recovery option under the login fields. Lexington Health’s terms allow account access to be restricted after repeated failed login attempts, so recovery is safer than repeatedly trying old passwords.

Expect automatic logout after inactivity

Lexington’s FAQ says MyChart automatically logs a user out after about 15 minutes of keyboard inactivity. If a page disappears after you step away, sign in again rather than assuming the account is broken.

New LMC MyChart Account: Signup, Activation and Processing

Lexington Health supports several enrollment paths. Staff may enroll a patient during a visit, an activation code can appear on an After Visit Summary or billing statement, a code may arrive by text/email after a visit, or the patient can submit the official online signup form.

If you have an activation code

  • Use it only on Lexington Health’s official MyChart activation page.
  • Lexington Health says activation codes expire after 60 days.
  • If the code expired or was lost, Patient Support can verify you and issue a new one.
  • You can also use the official signup page instead of trying an expired code repeatedly.

If you do not have a code

The signup page asks for patient information so Lexington Health can match the request against its medical record or perform identity verification.

The current signup page warns that an online request can take up to a week for processing and verification. Once approved, Lexington Health says it sends an email with an activation code and activation instructions.

Use the patient’s information—not the caregiver’s—when the form asks who is being seen. Lexington’s signup page specifically says each patient requires a separate entry. If you are helping another person, use the appropriate proxy process rather than trying to create their account as if it were yours.

Age rule: Lexington Health’s current MyChart terms say an individual must be 16 or older to request a personal MyChart account. Younger patients are handled through the minor-proxy process.

Two-Step Verification: Exact Timing, Sender and Short Code

Lexington Health publishes unusually specific troubleshooting details for verification codes. These are worth knowing before assuming that the account or phone is broken.

Lexington Health verification details
Situation Official detail Practical next step
Code delivery Usually no more than about 1–2 minutes. Wait briefly before requesting another code.
Email code Lexington’s FAQ says codes may come from mychart@lexmed.com. Check the correct inbox, spam/junk and refresh the inbox.
Text code Lexington uses short code 202184. Check blocked/spam messages and unknown-sender filtering.
Accidentally stopped texts Text START to 202184. Then retry verification from the official portal.
Code validity Up to 20 minutes unless a newer code is generated. Use the newest code after any resend.
Verification frequency When enabled: on a new device and at least once every 180 days. Keep the account email and mobile number current.
Password reset Two-step verification is also used during password reset. Make sure you can access the account’s email or phone first.

Browser, Device and Login Troubleshooting

Portal says cookies are disabled

The Lexington login page requires cookies. Allow cookies for the official MyChart domain, reload the page and try again.

Page says JavaScript is required

Enable JavaScript for the official portal or use a current browser. Lexington’s FAQ names current versions of Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Safari as supported examples.

Phone login is easier

Lexington says the MyChart mobile app can use Face ID or fingerprint login when supported and configured on the device.

You were logged out unexpectedly

The 15-minute inactivity timeout is a privacy feature, not necessarily an account failure.

Old code stopped working

If you requested a newer verification code, use that newest code. Earlier codes can stop working before their nominal 20-minute window ends.

Recovery still fails

Call Lexington Health MyChart Patient Support at (803) 791-2300 rather than sending account screenshots or identity documents to an unofficial helper.

What Lexington Health MyChart Actually Helps With

Lexington’s official portal emphasizes a smaller set of high-value patient tasks: appointments, messages, refills, test results, billing and access to portions of the medical record. Availability can still depend on the participating office and the patient’s account.

Appointments

Request or schedule appointments with participating offices, receive reminders and complete available pre-visit forms.

Secure messages

Ask the care team non-emergency questions while signed in. Lexington’s terms state that messages sent through MyChart become part of the patient’s medical record.

Prescription refills

Request refills for medications currently prescribed when the medication and clinical situation are eligible for online renewal.

Test results

Most results can appear as soon as they become available—often before the ordering physician or APP has reviewed them.

Health information

Lexington’s FAQ lists medications, allergies, care team, health issues, messages, results and visits among information that may be available.

Billing

View statements, make payments, save eligible payment methods, review payment history and set up available payment arrangements.

A result appearing in MyChart does not mean the clinician has reviewed it yet. Lexington Health says most results are released when available and that some results may be withheld or delayed at the provider’s discretion. If a result is missing or unclear, follow up with the ordering office rather than assuming the test was never completed.

Messages: A Small Detail That Can Prevent a Medical-Record Mix-Up

Message only from the correct patient’s chart

Lexington Health specifically warns users not to send questions about another person from their own record. The message could be saved in the wrong patient’s medical record and potentially affect care.

Use proxy access before sending for someone else

If you have approved proxy access, switch to that patient’s record before sending the message. Do not use password sharing as a shortcut.

MyChart messaging is not an emergency channel. Lexington Health’s terms direct patients with an emergency or urgent medical need to call 911, go to an emergency room and/or contact the appropriate physician.

Medical Records: Free Digital Copy vs Paper Request

This is one of the clearest places where choosing the right route can save money. Lexington Health says a digital formal copy requested through MyChart is free of charge. Paper retrieval may carry a cost unless records are being sent directly to another health-care facility for continuity of care.

Request a formal digital copy in MyChart

  1. Sign in to Lexington Health MyChart.
  2. Open Your Menu.
  3. Select Obtain or Share Your Record.
  4. Choose who you want to share the records with.
  5. Select Request a Formal Copy.
  6. Complete the request and choose Send Request.
  7. After approval, open Documents in MyChart to view the record.

Use Health Information Management when MyChart is not enough

A complete medical record can contain information that is not displayed in MyChart. Lexington Health says MyChart gives access to some—but not all—information in the electronic record.

Medical Records / Health Information Management:
(803) 791-2264

Lexington Health
2720 Sunset Blvd.
West Columbia, SC 29169

Incorrect information? Lexington’s FAQ says MyChart information comes from the electronic medical record. If a medical detail is inaccurate, ask the doctor to correct it during a hospital or office visit.

Pediatric-record note: Lexington’s medical-record page states that medical records must be retained for 10 years after a patient reaches majority. If you are looking for an older childhood record, call Health Information Management instead of assuming it is unavailable because it is not visible online.

Proxy Access: Child, Teen, Adult and Legal Representative Rules

Lexington Health’s proxy rules change around age 16 and also depend on whether the patient can legally provide consent. This is more precise than a generic “family access” rule.

Lexington Health MyChart proxy rules
Patient situation Who / how Important expiration or paperwork
Birth through age 15 Parent or legal guardian uses the minor-proxy process through their own MyChart account. Minor proxy access automatically ends the day before the child’s 16th birthday.
Patient age 16+ The patient can grant Friends and Family access in MyChart or complete the adult proxy process. The proxy must be at least 18. Lexington’s current terms say standard adult proxy access terminates after three years unless renewed.
Age 16+ with diminished capacity Legal guardian or health-care power of attorney should contact Health Information Management. Legal documentation is required, and Lexington’s terms say this proxy access terminates after one year.

Every proxy uses their own MyChart account. A spouse, parent or caregiver should not sign in with the patient’s private username and password. Lexington Health also notes that approved proxy users may see billing information connected with the patient account.

LMC MyChart on iPhone and Android

Lexington Health’s FAQ supports use of the Epic MyChart mobile app. You first need a Lexington Health MyChart account; after installing the app, select the appropriate Lexington Health organization and sign in with that account.

Apple devices

Install the MyChart app published by Epic Systems Corporation from Apple’s App Store.

Android

Install the MyChart app published by Epic Systems Corporation from Google Play.

Biometric login

Lexington Health says mobile MyChart can support Face ID or fingerprint login where available and configured.

Do not assume every feature shown in the generic MyChart app exists at Lexington Health. Epic’s app supports many possible features, but each health organization controls which functions are enabled for its patients.

LMC MyChart Billing: Pay Online, by Phone or by Mail

Lexington Health’s billing pages give several payment methods. The best choice depends on whether you want to see statement history, use saved payment information or simply pay an existing bill.

Pay inside MyChart

After signing in, Lexington says patients can find statements, submit payments and set up available payment arrangements.

Use QuickPay without login

QuickPay asks for the guarantor name and guarantor account number shown on the statement. If you cannot find the account number, customer service is (803) 791-2300.

Pay by phone

Billing: (803) 791-2300
Toll-free: (877) 835-0975

Mailing a check

Make the check payable to Lexington Health.

Lexington Health
PO Box 100061
Atlanta, GA 30348-0061

This payment mailing address is different from the West Columbia hospital address.

Need an itemized bill?

Lexington Health lists itemized-bill assistance at (803) 791-2300, weekdays 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m..

Insurance users: Lexington recommends reviewing the Explanation of Benefits from your insurer, checking the service date and insurer payment information, and waiting for the final hospital or physician bill before sending payment.

Paperless billing is the default. Lexington Health says patients are automatically enrolled in paperless MyChart statements. To return to paper statements, sign in and go to Billing → Paperless preferences, disable paperless billing and save the change.

Before Care: Estimates, Good Faith Estimates and Insurance

MyChart billing starts after care, but Lexington Health also publishes tools for understanding costs before a service. These can be more useful than waiting until a bill appears in the portal.

Online hospital estimate tool

Lexington Health’s price-transparency page provides an online estimate tool powered by Experian and says it includes about 300 shoppable services for inpatient or outpatient hospital care.

The hospital also warns that listed charges and estimates may not equal the final bill.

Good Faith Estimate

Lexington Health publishes the federal Good Faith Estimate notice for people who are uninsured or not using certain health coverage for scheduled care.

  • When care is scheduled at least 3 business days ahead, the notice says the written estimate should generally be provided within 1 business day after scheduling.
  • When scheduled at least 10 business days ahead, it says the estimate should generally be provided within 3 business days.
  • You may also request an estimate before scheduling; the notice says it should generally be supplied within 3 business days.
  • If a provider/facility bill is at least $400 above its Good Faith Estimate, the notice says a federal dispute process may be available.

2026 insurance update: Lexington Health’s current insurance page says Lexington Medical Center and affiliated physician practices returned to Cigna in-network status on July 1, 2026. Patients whose appointments or procedures were canceled during the earlier network disruption are directed to contact their doctor’s office about rescheduling.

Insurance lists can change and individual benefits vary. Lexington Health tells patients to know their deductibles, copays, referral rules and preauthorization requirements and to contact the insurer for plan-specific questions.

Cannot Afford the Balance? Check Assistance Before Ignoring the Bill

Lexington Health has a separate financial-assistance program for qualifying patients with limited or no insurance coverage. If you do not qualify, the health system says payment arrangements may still be available.

Financial counselor

Phone: (803) 791-2490

Lexington Health says eligibility is evaluated using U.S. Department of Health and Human Services standards and other circumstances.

Documents Lexington asks applicants to prepare

  • Photo identification and Social Security numbers for eligible household members.
  • Two months of pay stubs for income verification.
  • Complete bank statements for applicable checking and savings accounts.
  • Rent receipt or current lease.
  • Proof of qualifying food or housing assistance such as SNAP, WIC or Section 8 when applicable.

Lexington also lists some patients as potentially presumed eligible based on circumstances such as verified Medicaid participation, SNAP or certain public-relief programs, homelessness, or a deceased patient with no confirmed estate after the specified review period.

Which Lexington Health Number Should You Call?

A common source of frustration is calling the hospital switchboard for a portal, billing or record problem. Lexington Health publishes different routes for each.

Lexington Medical Center Address, Entrance and Parking

The main hospital address is useful for hospital visits and some records paperwork, but it is not the default address for every Lexington Health appointment. Check MyChart appointment details or the official locations directory before driving.

Main hospital

Lexington Medical Center
2720 Sunset Blvd. (Hwy 378)
West Columbia, SC 29169

Main phone: (803) 791-2000

The official location page says the hospital entrance is on East Hospital Drive.

Parking that is easy to miss when planning from the portal

Lexington Health currently lists free parking in Lot F, Lot G and Parking Garage 2 for the main medical center.

  • Check the clinic/facility name in the appointment.
  • Check the address before leaving home.
  • Do not assume “Lexington Health” means the West Columbia hospital campus.
  • Use the official location finder for physician offices and community facilities.

Privacy, Email Notices and MyChart Phishing

Lexington Health currently displays a MyChart phishing warning across its website and portal. A copied logo is not proof that an email, payment page or account-reset request is legitimate.

Email notifications reveal something even without the record

Lexington’s terms say email notifications do not contain the private medical information itself, but someone with access to your email could still learn that new medical information or a new MyChart message exists.

Use an email account that other people cannot casually access if this matters for your privacy.

MyChart participation is voluntary

Lexington Health’s terms state that patients do not have to use MyChart in order to receive care. If online access is difficult, use the physician office, billing department or Medical Records route instead.

Safer habits

  • Start from lexhealth.com or mychart.lexhealth.com.
  • Use account recovery from the login page rather than links in unexpected messages.
  • Pay only through MyChart, official QuickPay, official phone or official mailing instructions.
  • Keep activation and one-time codes private.
  • Use proxy access instead of shared passwords.

Pause if you see this

  • An email asks you to reply with your password or verification code.
  • A payment message creates unusual urgency or threatens immediate account action.
  • The domain looks similar to Lexington Health but is not an official Lexington domain.
  • A “support agent” asks for screenshots of medical records or login prompts.
  • An app download comes from outside Apple App Store or Google Play.

Why Another MyChart Portal Can Behave Differently

Epic supplies the MyChart platform, but each health system controls its own account rules, billing routes, proxy policies and enabled features. That is why instructions from another hospital should never override Lexington Health’s own instructions.

A useful example is our SSM MyChart patient portal guide, where signup and identity-verification steps differ from Lexington Health. The comparison is useful when a patient has records in more than one health system, but LMC account actions should stay on Lexington’s official portal.

LMC MyChart Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the current official LMC MyChart website, and is my old lexmed.com bookmark wrong?

The current Lexington Health portal is mychart.lexhealth.com. Older mychart.lexmed.com links may still resolve to the same Lexington Health MyChart system, so an old bookmark is not automatically fake. For a new bookmark, use the current lexhealth.com portal.

2. How long can online LMC MyChart signup take if I do not already have an activation code?

Lexington Health’s current signup page says an online request may take up to a week for processing and verification. After approval, it says an activation code and instructions are sent by email.

3. How long is a Lexington Health MyChart activation code valid?

Lexington Health says an activation code expires after 60 days. If it is lost or expired, call MyChart Patient Support at (803) 791-2300 or use the official signup process.

4. Why am I not receiving my LMC MyChart verification code?

Lexington says codes usually arrive within about 1–2 minutes. Email codes may come from mychart@lexmed.com; text codes use short code 202184. Check spam, blocked texts and unknown-sender filtering. If messages were stopped, text START to 202184.

5. How long does a Lexington MyChart verification code work?

Lexington Health says a code can remain valid for up to 20 minutes unless you request another code. After a resend, use the newest code. When two-step verification is enabled, Lexington says it is required on new devices and at least once every 180 days.

6. Can I pay a Lexington Health bill without signing into MyChart?

Yes. Lexington Health provides QuickPay. You need the guarantor name and guarantor account number shown on the statement. Billing can help at (803) 791-2300 if you cannot locate that information.

7. Why did Lexington Health stop mailing my paper bill?

Lexington Health currently enrolls patients in paperless MyChart billing. If you want paper statements, sign in and use Billing → Paperless preferences, turn off paperless billing and save the change.

8. Is there a fee to get Lexington Health medical records?

Lexington Health says a formal digital copy requested through MyChart is free. Paper-record retrieval can have a cost unless records are sent directly to another health-care facility for continuity of care.

9. What happens to a parent’s MyChart proxy access when a child turns 16?

Lexington Health says minor proxy access automatically terminates the day before the child’s 16th birthday. Continued access requires the appropriate age-16-and-older authorization process.

10. Why might I see a test result before my Lexington Health provider contacts me?

Lexington says most test results are available as soon as they become available, which may be before the ordering physician or APP has reviewed them. Some results may be delayed or withheld from automatic release at the provider’s discretion.
