Atlantic Health MyChart is the secure patient portal used across Atlantic Health hospitals, physician practices, urgent care, outpatient services and other care sites in New Jersey. Patients use it for appointments, test results, messages, prescription renewals, medical records, hospital bills, estimates, financial assistance, proxy access and virtual care.
This guide focuses on the details that actually cause confusion: Atlantic Health’s 30-day activation-code rule, 18+ self-signup requirement, age 12–17 enrollment process, 15-minute inactivity timeout, two-business-day message response target, immediate test-result release, partial versus full proxy access, MyChart Central, Atlantic Health’s own mobile app and the difference between hospital and physician billing.
Quick answer: use mychart.atlantichealth.org for Atlantic Health MyChart. Technical support is available at 1-800-205-9911, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.–7 p.m. Eastern. The login page currently includes account recovery, signup, hospital Guest Pay, price estimates, caregiver access, provider search, locations, virtual visits and MyChart Central/Epic ID login.
Privacy boundary: MyChart-Health.org is an independent informational website. It is not Atlantic Health or Epic. Never enter your password, activation code, security answer, Social Security number, medical-record information, insurance details or payment information on this website.
Use the Correct Atlantic Health MyChart Route

|---|---|---|---|
| Sign in | Atlantic Health MyChart login | Your Atlantic Health MyChart username/Epic ID and password. | Open your Atlantic Health record and available patient tools. |
| Adult self-signup | Online self-signup | Information matching Atlantic Health records; the current form may request the last four digits of SSN. | Identity is checked using a secure third-party verification system. |
| Forgot username/password | Account recovery | Access to the email and identity information associated with the account. | Recover the username or create a new password after verification. |
| Hospital bill without login | Pay as Guest | Guarantor name and guarantor account number from the hospital statement. | Pay an eligible Atlantic Health hospital balance. |
| Price estimate | Guest estimate tool | Service/procedure information and insurance benefit details when available. | Review an estimate, not a guarantee of the final bill. |

How to Log In Safely
Open the Atlantic Health login page
Confirm the address uses mychart.atlantichealth.org before entering credentials. The official portal requires cookies and JavaScript.
Enter your Atlantic Health MyChart username or Epic ID
Atlantic Health also supports Epic ID through MyChart Central for eligible linked accounts.
Enter the password for Atlantic Health
Do not assume credentials from another healthcare organization’s portal will work unless the accounts have been linked through MyChart Central.
If login fails, choose account recovery
Forgotten usernames can be sent to the email address on file after verification. Password reset uses Atlantic Health’s approved recovery process and security checks.
Expect automatic logout after inactivity
Atlantic Health says an idle MyChart web session automatically logs out after about 15 minutes.
Atlantic Health Signup: Adult Self-Service and Teen Rules
Atlantic Health uses different enrollment routes depending on patient age and whether an activation invitation has already been issued.
Age 18+: online self-signup
Atlantic Health’s current self-signup form requires users to be at least 18 years old. Identity is checked through a secure third-party verification system.
A previous or scheduled visit with an Atlantic Health doctor’s office or medical center is required to obtain an account through this process.
If instant verification cannot be completed, Atlantic Health says the request may take up to five business days for processing and verification.
Age 12–17: contact the doctor’s office
Atlantic Health allows MyChart participation beginning at age 12 with approval from an Atlantic Health doctor. Patients ages 12–17 are directed to their doctor’s office for an activation invitation rather than using the standard adult self-signup process.
Activation-code timing: Atlantic Health’s current MyChart FAQ says an activation code expires after 30 days and stops working after its first successful use.
Lost or expired activation code? Atlantic Health says privacy rules prevent support from simply emailing another code. You can request one during a visit, contact your doctor’s office, or use self-signup without a code when you are eligible.
Security, Notifications and Profile Changes
| Situation | Atlantic Health guidance | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Idle session | Automatic logout after about 15 minutes without keyboard activity. | Sign in again; log out manually on shared devices. |
| Missing notifications | MyChart alerts currently come from No-Reply@AtlanticHealth.org. | Check spam/junk and Settings → Other Preferences → Notification Preferences. |
| Email address | Can be updated under notification preferences. | Keep it current for username recovery and MyChart alerts. |
| Password/security questions | Managed in MyChart settings. | Use Settings → Change Password. |
| Home address | Atlantic Health does not direct patients to change it like an ordinary profile field. | Contact the doctor’s office or an Atlantic Health registration desk. |
Email privacy matters. Atlantic Health says notification emails do not include the medical details themselves, but anyone who can access your email may still see that new medical information is available.
Test Results: Why You May See Them Before Your Care Team Calls
Atlantic Health releases most results to MyChart as soon as they are finalized. That can place the result in front of the patient before the ordering clinician has reviewed it.
Immediate release
Most finalized test results become visible promptly in MyChart. Some sensitive results may still be handled differently.
Allow clinical review time
Atlantic Health asks patients to allow the care team up to five business days to review results and contact them when needed.
An exclamation point is not a diagnosis
Atlantic Health explains that a result outside the listed reference range is flagged, but the flag does not automatically mean the result is dangerous.
Clinical notes can be found under Visits. Lab results and scans are under Test Results. Health Summary is under the main menu and includes items such as medications, allergies, immunizations and current health issues.
How long should a MyChart message take?
Atlantic Health’s FAQ says to allow two business days for a reply from a doctor or nurse. If there is no response after that time, contact the clinician’s office.
Do not use MyChart messages for emergency care. Call 911 for a medical emergency and contact the appropriate clinical office for urgent medical questions.
Why a Doctor May Appear in MyChart but Not Be Available for Messaging
Atlantic Health has a specific rule for messaging relationships that explains a common portal complaint.
Who is normally messageable?
In general, Atlantic Health says you can message doctors who have seen you in an office visit, called you or sent you a letter within the previous three years. You may also be able to message a doctor with whom you have an appointment scheduled within the next year.
Who may not be messageable?
A clinician can appear on your Care Team without meeting the messaging relationship requirement. Atlantic Health also says doctors who treated you only during a hospital admission or emergency-department visit are not generally available through this MyChart messaging list.
Wrong PCP listed? If you have a relationship with an Atlantic Health physician office, contact that office to update the general PCP in Epic. If the wrong physician is the PCP assigned by your insurance plan, contact the insurer rather than MyChart support.
MyChart Central and Epic ID
Atlantic Health’s current login and FAQ support MyChart Central, which can connect participating MyChart organizations under one Epic ID.
MyChart username
This is the username created for an individual MyChart organization such as Atlantic Health.
Epic ID
An Epic ID is the email-and-password login used with MyChart Central. Atlantic Health says it can be used to access MyChart accounts linked to MyChart Central. MyChart Central/Epic ID can also support passkeys.
This is useful if you receive care from multiple Epic organizations. Linking does not merge the hospitals into one provider; each organization still controls its own medical record, billing rules and enabled features.
Atlantic Health App: You Do Not Need a Separate MyChart App
Atlantic Health publishes its own branded mobile app. Atlantic Health says all the tools from the MyChart app are included inside the Atlantic Health app, and the same MyChart login can be used.
Apple devices
The official App Store listing identifies the developer as Atlantic Health System Inc. and currently supports iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
Android
Google Play lists the developer as Atlantic Health System Inc. and includes MyChart records, messaging, appointment check-in, results and billing tools.
Without login
The Atlantic Health app can still help locate doctors, services and locations.
With MyChart login
Access records, results, provider messaging, appointment check-in and hospital bill payment.
App problem vs MyChart problem
MyChart account problems go to 1-800-205-9911. Atlantic Health lists appfeedback@atlantichealth.org for non-MyChart app issues.
Atlantic Health Proxy Access: Child, Teen and Adult Rules
Proxy access lets an authorized parent, guardian or caregiver use their own MyChart account to connect with another patient’s record. Atlantic Health requires the appropriate authorization form and government-issued photo identification.
| Patient age | Access level | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|
| 0–11 | Full child proxy access is available to parents/legal guardians. | Atlantic Health says clinical notes for patients 0–11 are not available in MyChart. |
| 12–17 | Proxy automatically becomes more limited to protect adolescent privacy. | Partial access excludes prescription refill requests, appointments, clinical notes and medication information. Full access may be granted with patient authorization and agreement from a trusted provider. |
| 18+ | Adult-to-adult full proxy access is available with authorization. | Prior minor proxy access automatically ends on the patient’s 18th birthday. |
Age 12 is a major transition point. Atlantic Health says Child Proxy Access automatically converts to Partial Proxy Access on the child’s 12th birthday. Adolescent access is reassessed annually.
Proxy users do not see the patient’s private doctor messages. Atlantic Health’s FAQ says messages the patient sends to the doctor’s office remain private and are not visible to someone who merely has proxy access.
Revoke proxy access immediately
The patient can open Settings → Personalize → Who Can View My Record?, select the proxy and choose Revoke Access. Atlantic Health says the change takes effect immediately.
Medical Records: MyChart Download vs Formal Release Request
MyChart provides immediate access to many records, but Atlantic Health also supports formal release-of-information requests when you need a complete copy, records from multiple facilities, records for an attorney/insurer or radiology images.
When a requested record is ready in MyChart
- Open Health.
- Open Document Center.
- Select Requested Records.
- Find the requested record and choose Download.
- If password protected, continue the download.
- Use Show Password on the Requested Records page when needed.
Request records from more than one location
Atlantic Health says the Explain Your Request section can be used to identify multiple facilities. For each additional location, include the facility name, visit date and information being requested.
| Record route | Current published charge |
|---|---|
| Records sent directly to another healthcare facility | Free |
| Records released into MyChart | Free |
| First copy of electronically maintained records | Free |
| Subsequent electronic copy | $6.50 |
| Paper-maintained records | $6.50 |
Processing time: Atlantic Health says most requests are completed as promptly as possible, but the organization may take up to 30 days when extenuating circumstances apply.
Need radiology images? Identify the imaging study, the facility and the date in the request. Atlantic Health says radiology image disks can be mailed to the patient’s home address.
Atlantic Health MyChart Billing: Hospital Bills Are Not the Only Billing Route
Atlantic Health’s MyChart Guest Pay is specifically labeled for hospital billing. Physician practices and partner groups can have different payment portals and customer-service numbers.
MyChart hospital billing
Signed-in users can review statements, estimated copays, payment history, saved payment methods, payment plans and paperless billing options.
Guest Pay
Guest Pay uses the guarantor name and guarantor account number from the statement. Atlantic Health explains that a visit account groups charges related to a particular visit, so one guarantor can have several visit accounts.
| Bill type | Current contact |
|---|---|
| Atlantic Health hospitals, outpatient services, home care/hospice | 1-833-899-0028 |
| Atlantic Medical Group physician practices | 1-844-362-1735 |
| Atlantic Health Partners | 1-866-765-0757 |
| Primary Care Partners | 1-866-282-7702 |
| Premier Health Associates | 973-940-0427 |
| Thompson Healthcare and Sports Medicine | 609-971-3500 |
Payment plans: Atlantic Health offers interest-free monthly payment arrangements to qualifying patients, and MyChart’s Message Center can be used to ask about payment plans. Atlantic Health also offers additional eligible hospital payment-plan options through PayZen.
Price Estimates: What the MyChart Number Does Not Include
Atlantic Health lets patients create estimates through MyChart and lets guests create estimates for certain hospital services without an account.
Online estimate
Signed-in users can use insurance information already on file. Guest users can enter insurance and benefit information manually.
Atlantic Health’s estimate screen clearly states that the result is not a guarantee of the final charge.
Professional charges may be separate
The guest estimate disclaimer says the hospital estimate may not include professional charges such as anesthesiology, radiology or pathology fees.
Estimate help: call 1-855-632-6667, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.. Atlantic Health recommends having the service/procedure information, CPT code when available and insurance plan details ready.
Good Faith Estimate: uninsured patients and patients not using insurance can request a written estimate. Atlantic Health also notes that a federal patient-provider dispute process may be available when a bill is at least $400 above the Good Faith Estimate.
Financial Assistance Can Also Be Managed Through MyChart
Atlantic Health’s MyChart overview says patients can apply for financial assistance and track application progress from MyChart. The broader financial-assistance program is intended for qualifying low-income, uninsured and underinsured patients needing medically necessary hospital care.
Financial counseling
Call 1-833-899-0028 for help with an application or questions about available programs.
Documents to prepare
- Patient/family identification documents.
- Proof of income for the relevant review period.
- Applicable checking, savings and other asset information.
- Proof of New Jersey residency when required by the program.
Hospital assistance does not necessarily cover every professional charge. Atlantic Health says physician fees, anesthesiology, radiology interpretation and outpatient prescriptions can be separate from hospital charges and may not fall under the same assistance program.
Virtual Primary Care and MyChart
Atlantic Health now offers virtual primary care for adults age 18 and older, seven days a week. The virtual physician can review the patient’s Atlantic Health MyChart medical record before the visit.
Who can use it?
Atlantic Health’s current virtual primary-care service is for adults 18 and older.
What you need
A smartphone, tablet or computer with camera and microphone, reliable internet and MyChart access.
What happens afterward
The visit summary is added to the Atlantic Health medical record so the patient’s care team can see the outcome and coordinate follow-up.
Atlantic Health currently advertises same-day and even same-hour virtual primary-care availability when appointment inventory allows. This is different from sending an ordinary MyChart message.
