Albany Med MyChart is now the shared patient portal for Albany Medical Center, Columbia Memorial Health, Glens Falls Hospital, Saratoga Hospital and their connected Albany Med Health System services.
The important detail is timing: Albany Medical Center moved to Epic and MyChart on March 2, 2024, while Columbia Memorial Health, Glens Falls Hospital and Saratoga Hospital joined the same unified record on November 2, 2024. Those dates still matter for older bills and legacy portal records.
Quick answer: use mychart.albanymed.org for current Albany Med Health System MyChart access. The system lists 833-670-9095 as its dedicated MyChart Patient Support Line. You can also sign up without an activation code, recover login information, Pay as Guest, request estimates, link outside MyChart accounts and use MyChart Bedside during an inpatient stay.
Privacy boundary: MyChart-Health.org is an independent information website. It is not Albany Med Health System, Epic or the official Albany Med MyChart portal. Never enter your username, password, activation code, one-time verification code, Social Security information, insurance details, medical information or payment information here.
Why Older Albany Med Portal Links and Bills Can Look Different
Albany Med Health System did not move every hospital to Epic on the same day. Understanding the two rollout dates explains many “missing bill,” “old portal,” and “why did my login change?” questions.
Albany Medical Center moved to Epic and MyChart
Albany Medical Center Hospital, its practices and EmUrgentCare locations moved to Epic. MyChart replaced the former myAlbanyMed portal.
Albany Medical Center and Albany Medical College bills for services on or after March 2, 2024 can be handled through current MyChart.
The rest of the hospital system joined the same Epic record
Columbia Memorial Health, Glens Falls Hospital and Saratoga Hospital moved to Epic and the shared Albany Med MyChart portal.
Their former portals changed too: Columbia Memorial’s Healow, Glens Falls’ My Health Record and Saratoga’s Medent portal were replaced by the Albany Med MyChart system.
One useful consequence: if you already have an Albany Medical Center MyChart account, Albany Med says you do not need a new account merely because you later receive care at Columbia Memorial Health, Glens Falls Hospital or Saratoga Hospital. System providers now use the shared record.

How to Log In Safely
Open the Albany Med MyChart domain
Confirm the browser shows mychart.albanymed.org before entering credentials. The current portal requires JavaScript and cookies.
Enter your MyChart username or Epic ID
Use the Albany Med Health System password associated with the account. Mobile users may also have Face ID or fingerprint login available.
Complete two-step verification when enabled
Albany Med says a verification code can be sent by email or text. Account recovery also uses two-step verification.
Use recovery instead of repeated guesses
The official login page includes “Forgot login information?” If the account is locked, Albany Med directs patients to 833-670-9095.
Expect automatic logout after inactivity
Albany Med’s current FAQ says MyChart automatically logs users out after 10 minutes of inactivity.
Signup Without an Activation Code Is Available
Albany Med supports staff enrollment, activation-code signup and online self-signup. The current MyChart page specifically says an activation code is not required to begin self-signup.
What the current signup workflow may request
- First, middle and last name.
- Address.
- Date of birth.
- Legal sex.
- Last four digits of Social Security number.
- Email and confirmation.
- Mobile and home phone information.
Enter these identity details only on Albany Med’s official MyChart signup page.
What happens after submission
Albany Med’s current signup page says the request may take up to one week for processing and verification. If approved, an activation code and activation instructions are sent by email or letter.
If automatic identity verification fails, the request may be sent to the clinic for manual verification instead of simply being rejected.
Albany Med uses third-party identity verification for some self-signup requests. The portal says the answers used for that verification are not stored by the clinic.
Activation code lost or expired? Albany Med does not publish one fixed expiration length in the current FAQ. It says a code expires after a set period and becomes invalid after first use. Call 833-670-9095 for another code.
Two-Step Verification and Account Security
| Problem | Official guidance | Practical action |
|---|---|---|
| No two-step code | Check spam/junk, use Resend Code and check other email accounts that may be on file. | Call 833-670-9095 if Albany Med does not have a usable email/contact method. |
| Forgot username/password | Recovery uses two-step verification. | Start recovery from the official login page. |
| Account locked | MyChart Patient Support reactivates access. | Call 833-670-9095. |
| Email/phone changed | Personal Information allows updates to contact details. | Keep these current before account recovery is needed. |
| Legal name change | Albany Med directs legal-name changes to MyChart support. | Call 833-670-9095. |

Appointments: Why a Provider May Be Missing From Scheduling
Albany Med publishes a useful scheduling rule that is easy to miss. A provider does not automatically appear in the MyChart scheduling list forever.
Provider visibility rule
Albany Med says a provider appears in MyChart scheduling if you have seen that provider within the last year or you already have a future appointment with the provider within the next two years.
If the provider is not listed
Do not assume the provider left Albany Med. The online scheduling eligibility rule may simply not be met. Contact the provider’s office or Albany Med directly for the appropriate appointment route.
Canceling an eligible appointment
- Sign in to Albany Med MyChart.
- Open Visits.
- Select the upcoming visit.
- Open the appointment details.
- Select Cancel appointment when that option is available.
Results, Messages and Prescription Refills
Results can appear before interpretation
Albany Med says most test results appear as soon as they become available. You may see them before the provider has reviewed them. Provider comments may appear later.
Message response time
Albany Med’s current FAQ says patients generally receive a response within 1-3 business days. MyChart messages are not appropriate for urgent problems.
Request a refill
Sign in → Menu → My Record → Medications → Request Refills. Only medications eligible for portal refill appear as requestable.
Clinical information looks wrong? Albany Med says MyChart reflects the electronic medical record. First ask the provider to correct the inaccurate information. If the note remains incorrect, the health system also offers a formal amendment process.
Video Visits: eCheck-In Opens Seven Days Before the Visit
Telehealth is available through many Albany Med Health System primary, pediatric, urgent care and specialty practices. Availability depends on the provider and visit type.
Ask whether a video visit is appropriate
Call the provider’s office or use MyChart messaging to request a video visit when appropriate.
Complete eCheck-In early
Albany Med says eCheck-In becomes available seven days before a scheduled video visit.
Test camera and audio
The device must support both video and audio communication. The MyChart workflow asks you to test them.
Use the visit launch link
After eCheck-In, follow the visit link and select Start your video visit.
Wait for the clinical team
Albany Med says a medical office assistant or provider will join the session.
Albany Med’s FAQ says virtual visits are covered by insurance, but plan-specific cost sharing can differ. Verify benefits with your insurer if out-of-pocket cost matters.
MyChart Bedside Is Built Into the Existing Account
Albany Med Health System uses MyChart Bedside during eligible inpatient stays. You do not need to create a second account or download a separate Bedside app.
What happens after admission
Albany Med says the account automatically updates to show the inpatient Bedside view. You can also choose View hospital stay.
To leave the Bedside view and return to ordinary MyChart, select Home.
What Bedside can show
- Lab results.
- Diagnoses.
- Medications.
- Personalized education.
- Upcoming care events.
- Care-team members and their roles.
Proxy Access Changes at Age 12
Albany Med follows age-based proxy rules because New York law gives adolescents privacy rights for certain kinds of health information.
| Patient | Normal proxy access | Important rule |
|---|---|---|
| Child under 12 | Parent/legal guardian can request child proxy access. | Full access depends on parental rights or legal guardianship. |
| Age 12-17 | Parent/legal guardian proxy access becomes limited. | The minor can have their own MyChart access. |
| Age 12-17 needing expanded parent access | Parent/legal guardian requests expanded proxy through the provider. | Albany Med says expanded access requires approval from two providers. |
| Adult age 18+ | The adult patient can grant another person proxy access. | Patient and proxy each use their own MyChart account. |
Do not share usernames and passwords. Albany Med’s terms require each person to keep their credentials confidential. Use proxy access when managing another person’s care.
Formal Medical Records: Use the Hospital-Specific HIM Route
Albany Med says the best way to request hospital records is through MyChart. If you do not use MyChart, the system also provides an Authorization to Disclose Protected Medical Information form.
If you use the paper/form route
- Download the current authorization form.
- Complete it fully.
- Sign and date it.
- Send it to the correct Albany Med Health System hospital.
- Use the facility-specific phone if the request stalls.
| Hospital | Phone | Fax |
|---|---|---|
| Albany Medical Center | 518-262-3151 | 518-580-2463 |
| Columbia Memorial Health | 518-828-8513 | 518-580-2463 |
| Glens Falls Hospital | 518-926-5402 | 518-580-2463 |
| Saratoga Hospital | 518-583-8304 | 518-580-2463 |
Current Medical Records hours are listed as Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-noon and 1-4:30 p.m.
Record correction: expect a longer formal process
If you believe a note is wrong, Albany Med recommends first messaging the provider. If the provider does not change the note and you still disagree, you can submit a Patient Amendment Request.
Albany Med says only the author of the note can make the actual change. The formal amendment process can take approximately 60-90 days.
Billing: The Service Date Determines Whether MyChart Is the Right Place
The entire Albany Med Health System now uses MyChart billing, but older balances can still belong to the previous systems.
| Facility | MyChart billing begins | Older bill |
|---|---|---|
| Albany Medical Center / Albany Medical College / EmUrgentCare | Services on or after March 2, 2024 | Follow the instructions on the statement or Albany Med billing page. |
| Columbia Memorial Health | Services on or after November 2, 2024 | Legacy Patient Wallet / billing support at 518-828-8051. |
| Glens Falls Hospital | Services on or after November 2, 2024 | Hospital services: 1-888-691-8603; physician services: 1-888-682-5237. |
| Saratoga Hospital / Wilton Medical Arts | Services on or after November 2, 2024 | Legacy billing help at 518-583-8343. |

Albany Med Text Short Codes: Billing Uses a Different Number
Albany Med publishes separate short codes for billing messages and other patient reminders. Knowing which one is which can help you recognize expected texts.
| Short code | Used for | Help |
|---|---|---|
| 97989 | Billing notifications and bill-pay communication. | Reply HELP or call 518-264-7729. |
| 68723 | Visit updates, MyChart information, one-time passcodes, prescription reminders and care-management messages. | Reply HELP or call 518-262-3125. |
Albany Med says you can opt in by texting START to the appropriate short code. Text STOP to that short code to opt out. Normal carrier message/data rates may apply.
2026 Albany Med Financial Assistance: Up to 400% of the Federal Poverty Level
Albany Med Health System’s current 2026 Financial Assistance Policy applies across Albany Medical Center, Albany Medical College, Columbia Memorial Health, Glens Falls Hospital and Saratoga Hospital, including services from employed providers. Patients can apply through MyChart or use the official application.
These are the 2026 Albany Med policy figures and are updated annually. Eligibility also depends on program rules and the services involved.
| Income level | Current published minimum assistance |
|---|---|
| Below 200% FPL | Albany Med’s 2026 application states that qualifying charges are waived. |
| 200%-300% FPL | Sliding-scale patient responsibility with the limits described in the current policy for uninsured and underinsured patients. |
| 301%-400% FPL | A reduced sliding-scale responsibility remains available for qualifying patients. |
Documents the current policy says applicants may need
- Completed application.
- Most recent federal tax return.
- One month of current pay stubs or other income proof.
- Last two bank statements.
- Medicaid application/denial when income falls within applicable Medicaid levels.
Decision timing
Albany Med’s 2026 policy says a determination should be made within 30 days after a completed application is received.
If an application is incomplete, the applicant is notified of missing material and generally given 40 days to supply it before the incomplete application is denied.
Payment-plan protection after assistance
The current policy says a monthly installment on an eligible remaining balance may not exceed 5% of gross monthly income. Interest, if charged, may not exceed 2%.
Financial-assistance approval generally extends for one year from approval, although Albany Med may ask the patient to reapply if financial circumstances change. Homeless patients are identified in the current policy as automatically eligible.
Patient Estimates, Facility Fees and Price Transparency
Use the patient estimate tool first
Albany Med MyChart offers a patient-facing Guest Estimates workflow. If you already have MyChart, signing in can save time by using insurance information on file.
Why the hospital charge list is not your final price
Albany Med explains that gross charges are not necessarily what the patient owes. Responsibility can depend on negotiated insurance rates, government rates, deductibles, coinsurance, financial aid and other coverage.
Facility fees can matter. Albany Med advises patients to check whether a location is treated as a facility by their health plan and whether it is in network. Facility-fee and pricing help is available at 518-262-4989.
Albany Med MyChart App and Linked Accounts
Select Albany Med Health System
A generic MyChart app can contain multiple healthcare organizations. Confirm Albany Med Health System before assuming records are missing.
Already have MyChart somewhere else?
Albany Med says you still need an Albany Med Health System MyChart account, but you can link eligible outside MyChart accounts.
- Sign in to one of your MyChart organizations.
- Open the MyChart Menu.
- Search for Link My Accounts.
- Search for the other healthcare organization.
- Follow the authorization workflow.
Albany Med describes this cross-organization record feature as Happy Together. Linked information can include allergies, care team, health issues, medications, messages, test results and visits.
Official Albany Med MyChart Tutorial Videos
Albany Med’s official MyChart FAQ currently links tutorial videos for two-step verification and linking multiple MyChart accounts.
The direct media-player source is not reliably exposed in the publicly indexed official pages, so this article intentionally does not embed or guess a YouTube/Vimeo ID. That avoids replacing Albany Med’s official tutorial with an unrelated MyChart video.
One MyChart Account Across the Albany Med Health System
Albany Med’s Epic record now connects inpatient and outpatient care, scheduling, registration and billing across the health system. That makes one system-wide portal useful—but it also means a single hospital map would be misleading.
